Faye Leerssen is 16 and a student at Desert Mountain High School in Scottsdale AZ.  She started riding with Mariette Kort when she was 6 and started competing in Mounted Shooting at 8.  Faye has won numerous championships starting as a Wrangler and Junior including World Champion Wrangler (twice), Junior Open World Champion,  (Wrangler) Festival of the West,  ACMSA State,  and 2006 MSA World Women’s Overall.

Faye enjoys the challenge of training her own horses for mounted shooting (under the supervision of Mariette Kort).  Her Paint Gelding,  Chief has been her partner for the past 6 years, but he was injured before World last year and is taking time off to recover.  While working to rehabilitate Chief, she is also training a new horse, MyKindaHigh (Myca).

Faye loves mounted shooting for the excitement and camaraderie.

She is sponsored by Complete Custom Development, Inc.-Keith and Leslie Leerssen
